This photo of grand duke ernst ludwig of hesse with his daughter princess elisabeth of hesse is probably from 1901 or 1902. The child died in november 1903 at age eight. Weiland is an old german word which means 'it was, formerly', so the postcard is surely published after the death of the princess in 1903.
