This plate is part of sammlung von ansichten öffentlicher plätze, merkwürdiger gebäude u. Denkmäler in cöln, a map of 24 usually colored lithographies with views of cologne, edited in 1827 by johann peter weyer (1794-1864), city architect of cologne, and lithographed by anton wünsch (1800-1833). A bound volume with this title was issued in the same year, in a smaller format, with 153 pages of text and 26 b/w lithographies. St jacob parish church, built in the 1060s, was demolished in 1825. St georg, founded in 1059, was severely damaged in an air raid in 1943, and partially rebuilt after wwii. Bibliography:
