Design for a swordsmith's sign, chiaroscuro drawing. Pen and ink and brush, grey wash, white heightening, 24. 6 × 15. 3 cm, kunstmuseum basel. The coat of arms of the swordsmiths of basel shows a swiss dagger between swords crossed through a crown. The handles of combat weapons and hunting knives above the rectangular field may advertise the goods of the master (müller, 212). Date: circa 1520.
