The steamship 'dragonfly' underway. Signed/inscribed 'v. Luzzo venice, 1884' on attached crop (lower right). 16 x 26in. (40. 5 x 66cm. ) built by w. Gray & co. Of west hartlepool for galbraith, pembroke & co. , dragonfly was a cargo ship of 1,761 tons launched on the 23rd april 1883. She was wrecked on 10th december 1889 off nieuwe dieppe on a voyage from taganrog to amsterdam with a cargo of rye. Date: 1884.
