View of the constantine suspension bridge. Quai de béthune on the island of saint-louis. In the background, dome of the saint-paul-saint-louis church. Pedestrian bridge. Seine. Historical commentary: as a counterpart to the damiette footbridge, surville built from 1836 to 1838 a suspension bridge intended only for pedestrians, between the quai de béthune and the quai saint-bernard. In october 1872, this footbridge collapsed. The donor classified this collection into 19 series: 1) paris, right bank; 2) enclosure barriers removed on january 1, 1860; 3) plans and overviews; 4) bridges and railways; 5) hotels; 6) ile notre-dame - ile st. A manuscript of 6 sheets entitled: "alphabetical catalog of sketches from nature taken in paris until 1876", lists in alphabetical order the parisian places drawn by the artist.
