seaside landscape: saint-lunaire and the emeraude coast in ille-et-vilaine (brittany); from the pointe de la garde guérin, you can see longchamp beach on the right and opposite pointe du décollé which juts out into the ocean. Historical commentary:
essentially an engraver and landscaper, henri rivière is one of the major artists of color prints. In his works there is a profound influence from the japanese prints that he admires and collects. This watercolor prepared the way for the creation of a print kept at the petit palais (pp-gdut10261). The latter is part of the “breton landscapes” series. Themes / subjects / places represented:
