Retrato de Edward Montagu, 1.º Lord Sandwich (1667) - Feliciano de Almeida, 1663

Portrait of edward montagu, 1st lord sandwich (1663), by feliciano de almeida (signed on the lower right corner "feliçiano fecit"). This painting was in possession of the montagus until 1997, when it was destroyed in a fire in bridport, dorset, after being moved from hinchingbrooke house, huntingdon. The portrait was painted when the english admiral and diplomat visited lisbon for the wedding of catherine of braganza; lord sandwich described the portrait in his diary as "an extraordinary like picture". Date: 1663.
