Vii. 42. My dear mum! i have finally received a letter from you. You have no idea how much i have been waiting for it. I am just surprised at how you write that you have not had any mail from me for some time. I wrote to you three or four times before your letter came. I even sent the package in that time. Now the question is am i angry with you? how could i be angry with my dear mother? i am not ill either, on the contrary, i am fine. I still have not received your last letter with pictures of poldi! dear mum, didn't you know that i took dad's watch with me? my wristwatch was in for repairs at the time and i took it with me. Do you need it? if so, i'll send it to you. It goes without saying that you can't send any packages now [i don't want to either]. Date: 21 July 1942.
