Redrawn for wood , possibly by honoré daumier, after charles philipon´s original pen and bister-ink sketch "la métamorphose du roi louis-philippe en poire" ("the metamorphosis of king louis-philippe into a pear") drawn in a courtroom in 1831, bibliotheque nationale de france, paris. The set begins with an accurate portrait of king louis-philippe (1830-1848) and gradually transforms into a pear. This set would become the symbol of the overweight king. Date: 1834.
