Illustration by poul steffensen from the danish novel gjøngehøvdingen by carit etlar which takes place during and after the dano-swedish war in 1657-1658. Svend poulsen, gøngehøvdingen, and the copenhagen mayor hans nansen are disguised with sheets to avoid the swedish troops in the snowy forest. Svend poulsen don't know yet who hans nansen and what he want. But their talk lead to him to believe that he works for the swedes. He is ready to shoot hans nansen but don't think he is worth it. Hans nansen however convince him that he was just testing him. Svend poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) and hans nansen (1598-1667) were real persons but the story is fiction.
