This work is one of several inmaculadas painted by bartolomé esteban murillo that are preserved in the prado museum, located in the city of madrid, (spain). The virgin mary, mother of jesus christ, appears half-length and with a silver crescent moon at her feet, while on the sides of the virgin there are six seraphim. The colors of the tunic and mantle, together with the loose hair and the hands crossed over her chest, show that this is a representation of the savior's mother, and the crescent moon confirms that it is the immaculate conception.
