The descent from the cross; the lifeless body of christ is carefully removed from the cross and lowered on a white shroud; at top right a man balances on a ladder and leans over the beam of the cross while holding the shroud; the virgin mary, st mary magdalene and st john support the body in lower left; after peter paul rubens engraving on verso: counterproof of the same state.
