My beloved mother! yesterday your dear, long-awaited letter of august 3, 1944 arrived. Thank you very much for it. And today the package with the biscuit and ring arrived too. Thank you very much for that too. The ring turned out really nice and the hk turned out really well. I was of course very happy and thank you very much for it. Now i've put it on and i always have this lovely souvenir from you with me. It was a coincidence that you got this. I keep thinking back to the lovely vacation days. It was wonderful at home. And i really enjoyed the food too, it was well prepared, it goes without saying that you can't eat schnitzel every day these days. Date: 8 August 1944.
