describes an action occurring on on 8 june 1794, when captain joseph ellison's ship, hms druid (36 guns), with hms crescent (36 guns), and hms eurydice (20 guns), were attacked by a french squadron of two 54 gun ships, two 36 gun frigates, a corvette, and a brig.
