Village street with dragoons and boy with sleigh, winter., Karl Hansen Reistrup, 1918

The title used by bruun rasmussen does not do full justice to this painting. This is in fact a scene from næstved, where hansen reistrup lived most of his life (and not a "village"). People in the know have identified the street as vinhusgade, close to grønnegade, where the 4th dragoon regiment ("4. Dragonregiment") had their barracks. Dragoons were going out of fashion by 1918 - when the painting was made - and the regiment was disbanded in 1923. Object Type: painting. Date: 1918.
