At center, back turned, with the whiskers, is the french police agent who calls himself "monsieur chose," wearing english clothes, in an english street, conversing with an english inspector of police. In the background is a poster advertising the dancer stephanie boisfleury, in whom monsieur chose is interested. Wilford (the man with the long beard) has passed by the same poster and been startled by the name. Monsieur chose asks the inspector whether he knows wilford. Date: 21 June 1862.
