Allegory on marriage, after titian; on the left, a woman dressed as venus holds a crystal ball; a man dressed as mars (and identified as alfonso de avalos by the inscription) places his left hand on her shoulder; on the right, cupid, a woman with her right hand to her chest, and a figure carrying a flower basket; the latter three may represent love, hymen and fertility. 1867. Date: 1867.
