Death of Mawgan of Melluach, John Dawson Watson, 23 May 1863

Illustration for the poem "mawgan of melluach, the cornish wrecker" by robert stephen hawker (once a week, volume 8, page 602). The old wrecker, and murderer, is dying in struggles on a stormy night, with ghosts and/or demons waiting offshore in a boat to claim him. Date: 23 May 1863.
