Diploma from the natural history society of hanover for "mr. State minister von münchhausen of hanover" dated october 1, 1859 with the signature of the chairman of the society, the geologist and paleontologist friedrich ernst witte. Under the framing depiction of a landscape with mountains by the sea with its exotic animals and plants as well as fossils, there is a reference to the court lithograph of julius giere in hanover. The folded sheet - here as an electronically brightened and contrasted section - with small yellowing spots was apparently removed from a bound work and originally measured approximately 41 x 30. 5 cm.
