So-called alexander sarcophagus this is not the sarcophagus of alexander the great. The name comes from the fact that numerous battle and hunting scenes with alexander the great are depicted on the sarcophagus. Found in sidon in 1887; on one long side a hunt is depicted, on the other the battle of issus. Date: circa 1904.
