Interior of st. Mary's church in lübeck before and after the raf air raid during the night of palm sunday 28/29, march 1942. The picture in the right shows the church after its reconstruction. On the second southern pillar of the northern side stood the black obelisk with the sarcophagus and the coat of arms of mayor johann ritter (1622-1700). The obelisk is still to be seen on the picture in the center.
