historical commentary:
rue de venise connected rue quimcampoix to rue beaubourg. The 16th century house located on the corner (nº 27 and nº 54 rue quimcampois), to the right in the drawing, housed the "epée-de-bois" cabaret (closed in 1958), famous since 1658. The axis of the street between rue saint-martin and rue beaubourg was removed in 1936, when the unsanitary block was destroyed nº 1, where the georges pompidou square and center were rebuilt.
