The 16th century house located on the corner (nº 27 and nº 54 rue quimcampois), to the right in the drawing, housed the "epée-de-bois" cabaret (closed in 1958), famous since 1658. The axis of the street between rue saint-martin and rue beaubourg was removed in 1936, when the unsanitary block was destroyed nº 1, where the georges pompidou square and center were rebuilt.
