A monk as devil's bagpipe (British Museum 1870,0625.560), Erhard Schön, circa 1570

The caricature shows a fat monk, used as bagpipe by the devil. The text at the bottom says that martin luther, with the power of god, destroyed the kingdom of the pope, the devil, however, tried to restore it by means of the monks. The monk-bagpipe is not luther, but the counterpart. Date: circa 1570.
