Portrait of a young person near a piano, holding a music book or miss thevenet de montgarrel, future mme gillet ducoudray portrait of alexandrine-florence-virginie-casimire thevenet de montgarrel (died in 1827), daughter of joseph thevenet, senior employee at the royal, national and then imperial lottery of france and thérèse félicité ledoux; married in 1805 amédée madeleine charles gillet ducoudray (1778-1829), private secretary then advisor to the cabinet of louis bonaparte, king of holland. Five children were born from this union: louis eugène napoléon in 1806, alexandre eugène gillet ducoudray in 1808, euphrosine virginie gillet ducoudray in 1810, alexandrine laeticia gillet ducoudray in 1812 and alexandre joseph amédée in 1816. Miss thevenet de montgarrel wears a layered dress of vaporous orange and white fabrics, belted under the chest with a silk ribbon. Her curly hair is collected in a soft bun placed quite high and held in place by a comb. Heart hooks frame his face. A set of carnelian or coral jewelry completes her outfit. Miss thevenet de montgarrel is shown surrounded by musical scores, in front of her pianoforte made by sébastien érard. On the lectern we can see the title in gold letters of the lyrical tragedy in three acts by antonio sacchini: oedipus at the column. On the left is the score of l'ariodant, a drama in three acts and in prose by françois-benoît hoffman, mixed with music by etienne nicolas-méhul. Finally, the young woman points out l'amour filial, an opera in one act, by charles-albert demoustier, with music by pierre gavaux.
