Captions denote actors depicted and the roles they played: top corners: left, edward rose as polonius; right, francis burnand as the first player central image: paul rubens as guildenstern, capt. Robert marshall as hamlet, and an uncredited figure seen from behind, presumably rosencrantz. Bottom row, left to right: madeleine lucette ryley as ophelia, col. Newnham davis as a courtier, clo graves as the second player this image is the original for the one published in the illustrated sporting and dramatic news for town and country for july 30, 1904.
