The work is signed on the back and dated 1833. The owner notes about the work: "various bottles, glasses, a pink shell and a brass candlestick are arranged on a table in front of a green-covered frame. This is probably also a common academy assignment at the time, similar to the still lifes by johannes wimmel (cf. Az 409) and eduard stiegel (cf. Az 664).
