Sir matthew decker, 1st baronet (1679-1749) of richmond green in surrey, a dutch-born english merchant and economist who served as a member of parliament for bishop's castle in shropshire from 1719 to 1722. Grandfather of the founder of the fitzwilliam museum. Portrait by theodorus netscher, possibly 1720, the known date of a portrait by the same artist of sir matthew decker's famous pineapple, grown at richmond, surrey. See. Date: circa 1720.
