Political cartoon from the humorous weekly kladderadatsch (berlin), vol. 60, no. 43 (27 october 1907), p. 170:"on the maligning of bülow" "b. : good mohrchen, you would never be such a bad dog!" the cartoon turns on the german idiom "jemandem ans bein pinkeln" (literally: to piss on someone's leg), which means to offend someone through unwarranted and disrespectful criticism. Bülow's pants leg has been soiled not by his poodle mohrchen (a pet familiar to the german public of that era), but by adolf brand, who is thereby named a dog or a cur.
