iconographic description:
two people are installed in the middle of nature. A young woman wearing a frilly hat sits on a few large stones while a man next to her hands her an open letter, pointing to the text with his finger. Monnier and balzac, inspired by the same situations, often come together in their descriptions of the morals of their contemporaries, one through drawing and the other through writing. " when the young girl parted her curtains slightly in order to give her eyes the space strictly necessary to see into savinien's house, she saw the face of her lover above the español window opposite. When we think of the immense services that windows provide to lovers, it seems quite natural to be the subject of them. Of a contribution, having thus protested against the harshness of her godfather, ursule let the curtains fall, and opened her windows to close her shutters through which she could now see without being seen. She went up to her room seven or eight times during the day, and always found the young viscount writing, tearing up papers and beginning to write again, no doubt to her! balzac)
