Exterior scene: paris, "boulevart du temple", boulevard, classical architecture, theaters. Characters: a man holds a woman by the waist while a soldier and another man court a girl. On the left, two men, one of whom is squatting, sell tools while a food seller, equipped with a stove, wanders around. The left sidewalk is lined with theaters: that of "[. . . ]s de me le breton", the "theatre / de jeunes / artistes" and the "ambigu comique". There is also an “estaminet / du vin d’eau / de vie, cognac / double beers / de mars” “cairo” and a “cafe”. A group has gathered in front of the stage of the theater of "mme le breton" where a man plays the violin, a woman pours herself a drink and another man presents a cross. A panel above shows death with his scythe, a skeleton, a mourner and a magician. A coconut seller walks past this spectacle. Actors play on the stage of the “theater / youth / artists”. Further on, we can see a rosary seller in front of whom many people have gathered and the "show / of the world / miniature". On the right, two children play with a seller of oblivion. Next to it, there is a lemonade and a fruit seller.
