London: thomas m'lean, 1847. Engraved by james duffield harding (1797-1863) after charles stewart hardinge (1822-1894), the eldest son of the first viscount hardinge, the governor general. This particular plate deviates from the original printed issue, hand-colour tinted, and heightened with varnish, each mounted on a titled card in pencil, with the original caption still showing. Provenance, a volume set owned and sold in 2017 by the ‘’brooklyn library (stamped). ’’ references: abbey travel 472; tooley 244. Bonhams sale 26 september 2017. Object Type: print. Date: 1847.
