Tata castle is a water castle located on the shore of the öreg lake in tata. It was built by king sigismund of luxembourg between 1397 and 1409, perhaps on the site of the former stronghold of the lackfi family. The castle with a square layout, four corner towers and an inner courtyard, built by zsigmond, only has the southeast wing, and the excavated foundation walls of the other parts are attached to it.
