The engraving shows the god thor dressed up as freyja, with artificial breasts, a necklace (brísingamen) and a keychain. Loki, also dressed as a woman, is fixing up thor's headgear. Loki appears to be enjoying himself, thor does not. The depiction closely follows the description in strophes 15-20 of þrymskviða. Near the bottom middle there are the initials of carl larsson (1853-1919), the artist, written with runes. In the bottom left corner there is the signature of gunnar forssell (1859-1903), the xylographer. The image list on page 468 in the book describes this image as "tor såsom freya, loke brudtärna", i. E. Tor (thor, þórr) as freyja, loke (loki) as a bridesmaid. Object Type: painting. Date: Published in 1893..
