Queen esther before king ahasuerus, after peter paul rubens; counterproof of a drawing in the british museum, made as a preparatory drawing for the engraving by jan punt of the ceiling paintings in the jesuit church in antwerp; the king, seated under a canopy at left, extends a sceptre towards the breast of the kneeling esther at right.
