Photograph dated 1904 in the publishing house of the photographer friedrich astholz junior, reproduced here as a postcard with the serial number 458 by means of a phototype. It shows a view of the eastern part of hanover, namely a view from eichstrasse, which runs across the picture in the foreground, along rumannstrasse to bödekerstrasse in the middle of the picture in the background. In the foreground on the right, behind the two boys on the sidewalk at the height of the waiting horse-drawn carriage, you can see the birthplace of the later hanoverian artist kurt schwitters, who lived in the ground floor of the house that has been preserved to this day at the - current - address rumannstrasse 8, which was number 2 at the time the photo was taken. On the left side of the street you can see the three light-coloured buildings that are now listed buildings: at the then address rumannstrasse 26a to 27, the school's founder julie boysen and later the teacher elisabeth granier privately ran the girls' school that later became known as the ost-lyzeum, from which the later ricarda-huch-schule developed. Marie witte, who signed the postcard with her own handwriting, sent this picture greeting to miss katarina brandt in homburg vor der höhe in 1905. Date: circa 1904.
