Göttingen, am leinekanal, looking south. In the foreground the michaelishaus (left), the street "am leinekanal", the leinekanal and the grätzelhaus (right). Behind it, coming from the left, the prinzenstraße and the bridge over the leinekanal into the avenue (today goetheallee), in the background the paulinerkirche with the long, narrow wing that is called "the museum", the street "papendiek", a garden pavilion (still preserved today) in christian gottlob heyne's garden and the backs of the houses in the neustadt.
