iconographic description:
three young women richly dressed in dresses with bows and ruffles are presented in a pyramidal composition. They are shown in such a way as to be able to observe the beauty of the female face from different angles: front, profile and three-quarter view. Two have elaborate hairstyles. No doubt they are rich aristocrats or bourgeois women. During the pl. 17 of the same issue of la caricature, with which it contrasts. Opposition between the poor sphere and the rich sphere of french society. Rich women worry about trivial and light matters. Pl. Close, both in theme and in form, to the hours of the day series by achille devéria, offering, in 18 paintings, a representation of the day of an elegant parisian woman relieved of domestic chores.
