Aspertini sketch-book (so-called london i): 38th opening left (1898,1123. 3(37) verso) and right-hand page (1898,1123. 3(38) recto) with frieze of bacchus in india, the god mounted on an elephant with satyrs and human followers c. 1535 pen and brown ink, brown wash, over black chalk, some touches of white heightening, on vellum prepared with a brown wash. Date: between 1532 and 1535. Dimensions: Height: 248 mm; Width: 184 mm (each page). Medium: wool. Depicted People: Dionysos/Bacchus. Collection: British Museum.
