In the foreground, a woman wearing a bonnet and apron is seated in front of a game which consists of a drum with a strap showing on one side, its upper surface marked with a series of numbers, while a boy bends over it and concentrates as he balances a peg on a small stick, watched by three other children of different ages, including a girl holding a tray under one arm and a small cornet; to left a sturdy stool, in the distance on a raised platform with steps, figures gathered in and outside a large open tent structure, with decorations on the supporting posts, trees beyond; after lanfant de metz. 1860 lithograph.
