Historical commentary: marat lived, at the time of his assassination by charlotte corday, on july 13, 1793, in the house with a corner turret, formerly called hôtel de cahors, located at the corner of rue des cordeliers (current rue de l'ecole-de-médecine) and rue du paon-saint-andré.
