Family portrait in a large landscape, on the banks of the maas near dordrecht. On the left, under a group of trees, sits a young couple in black clothing with white lace collars, their hands intertwined, looking out of the picture. To the right, in front of them, a boy in a yellow smock is kicking around on an improvised stool with a red cover, laughing and holding a wreath of flowers. A girl in a blue dress sits a little further away in the middle of the picture and winds a wreath of flowers out of a basket, looking up at an angelic apparition floating down on clouds, glorifying a man (apparently a deceased relative) visible on the right edge of the picture. To the right, one looks out over an open landscape with the city of dordrecht and the maas, bustling with numerous ships. Oil on canvas. H. 98, w. 154. Illustration, plate 11.
