Student Dorm of Changrong Girls' High School/ Chen Cheng-po/ 1941/ Canvas/ Oil painting/ 91×116.5 cm, Tan Teng-pho, 1941

At the end of the war, the world was in chaos. Chen could not go to tamsui to paint the scenery of his beloved missionary school, so he turned to tainan, which was closer to home, to paint the buildings of evergreen girls' high school and middle school. The two-story building of evergreen girls' high school in the painting blends chinese and western styles, and looks infinitely solemn against the backdrop of towering ancient trees. This painting takes a green front yard as the foreground, a large green area with several trees, some tall and some short, and a curved path. The building of evergreen girls' high school looks spectacular and peaceful against the backdrop of green grass and blue sky. (by li xianhui). Object Type: painting. Date: 1941. Dimensions: 91×116.5 cm. Medium: canvas oil painting. Chen Chengpo 1941b
