On the verso was a label with a text that translates into: this painting was made in the vicarage of højelse by the flower painter i. L. Jensen and dated may 28, 1844. The flowers and the vase came from the vicarage. The painting has belonged to: vicar h. V. Nyholm, højelse near kjøge. Bequeathed to his son, the pharmacist carl nyholm in skanderborg. His widow gifted the painting to carl nyholm's brother's son, professor h. V. Nyholm. From his widow the painting went to manager knud nyholm, who has decided it shall pass to his son, dr. Med.
