Ludwig (dit lodovico) gruner (1801-1882), engraving dated 1840 of ancient sculptures thought to represent aesop: a bust (after the ancient bust thought to represent aesop at the villa albani, rome); two full-length seated views; and a bust on an oil lamp. Ingres museum, montauban, france. Stored in box no. 11 of all the documentation gathered by ingres, who depicted aesop in his painting apotheosis of homer. Date: 1840.
