The haarlem gate in amsterdam, built by hendrick de keyser, and painted in 1615. On the left we see the tow-boats waiting for passengers. One horse is led to the boats, another is led away from the boats after work. This one is mounted by a man with a whip. Both horses have the traces to be harnessed to the boat. Object Type: painting.
