In a cave, three men engaged in intercourse with mermaids, one couple standing at centre, the mermaid holding up a mirror in her left hand for the man to gaze at his reflection; another man standing by in readiness at right; a rowing boat tipped up on the rocks behind at centre, a man bending down in front of it to examine a conch; a turbaned man standing in the entrance of the cave, threatening with an oar an angry triton who waves his fists from the sea at left.
