In a letter on 5 july 1918 to the ministry of information, nash announced designs for a work entitled 'howitzer battery firing' (possibly this work). 'a howitzer firing' was a commission from the ministry of information and was listed as complete on 15 july 1918. Image: a scene with four british artillerymen firing a howitzer gun. They stand beneath a canopy of camoflage netting. To the right a blast of light erupts from the muzzle of the gun, and the men on the left shield their faces from the brightness.
