Nakamura sojuro (1835-89), dressed as a nobleman, removes his arms from the sleeves of his outer robe to prepare for a sword fight. The play is unidentified. Date: between circa 1865 and circa 80 (late Edo). Place of creation: Osaka, Japan. Dimensions: height: 25 cm (9.8 in); width: 18 cm (7 in). Medium: ink, paper. Collection: Walters Art Museum.
