Bridge on wooden stilts covered with medieval houses, croissant house, bras d'or house, women's bathhouses, half-timbered facade, balconies. King pepin town hall. Fortress, corbelled turrets. Benoist, plate i, reed. Sand and tchou, paris, 1982, t. 2, p. 219-285. The quai du marché-neuf was completed in 1566, removing 2 of the 5 arches of the bridge. The houses on the bridge were built symmetrically in 1552, then 1603 and restored in 1659. Card07911, gives a view of the bridge after the fire of april 17, 1718. Other later views bear witness to the gradual dismantling of the annexes of the hôtel-dieu, the development of the place du châtelet, town planning under prefect haussmann: card05829 (1830) and card05835 (1880).
