From october 1916, he served as the commander of the 3rd regiment. After crossing the front near rarańcza, he became the commander of the 15th rifle regiment in the ii polish corps in russia. After the battle of kaniów (may 11, 1918), he was captured by the germans. Later he fought in the polish army in france, with which he returned to poland in 1919. In the interwar period, he remained in the polish army, serving, among others, the function of the supreme air commander. After the defeat of the september campaign, he got to france and then great britain. In the polish armed forces in the west he served, among others, as commander of the polish air force in france and commander of the polish army in the middle (middle) east. In 1942, he was promoted to the rank of major general. He was awarded vm, kn, polonia restituta 3rd and 4th class, kw 4x, the golden cross of merit with swords and other decorations.
